THOMAS J. WESSEL, PRESIDENT

Mr. Wessel relocated his family to Florida from Ohio in 1987. During his employment in the early years here as CFO for a local general contractor, he was responsible for all administrative functions, as well as estimating, cost control and project management.
In 1992, Tom founded Tom Wessel Construction Corp. Since that time he has built a successful firm based on quality, professionalism, honesty and integrity.
A Florida State Certified General Contractor, Tom is also:
- A former member in good standing of the American Institute of CPAs.
- A former member of the Sarasota County Committee for Economic Development (now the Economic Development Corporation).
- A member of the Gulf Coast Builders' Exchange.
- A member of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.
- Chairman of the City of Sarasota Board of Rules and Appeals.
- A member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Sarasota Sertoma Foundation.

SCOTT HERMAN, SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER AND ESTIMATOR

Scott Herman is a results-oriented construction manager with nearly 20 years of expertise in all facets of the industry. He has a proven track record in all areas of:
Prior to joining Tom Wessel Construction Corp., Mr. Herman was a construction consultant for General Motors, during which time he provided design/build services for various offices and shops ranging from $5k to $40m.
Scott holds a Florida Certified Building Contractor's license, and his professional development has been enhanced through continuing education in architectural engineering, construction material cost and estimating, and general construction, blueprinting and project management courses.

MIKE RICE, VICE PRESIDENT & PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

After establishing residency in Florida but prior to joining Tom in the new company, Mr. Rice was instrumental in the successful completion of projects such as Ponderosa Steak House, Casa Lupita, Wal-Mart and Cardinal Mooney High School cafeteria.
The first employee hired by Tom Wessel, Mike has since been an asset to the company and has completed many projects, including Miles Media office building, Guaranty Bank building, Florida Power and Light offices, and John Cannon Homes corporate office building.
Mike's reputation for providing clients with high-quality, cost-effective project delivery contributes to the company's high rate of repeat client business.

GARY ELWICK, VICE PRESIDENT & PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Mr. Elwick owned and operated a small constuction company in Collinsville, Illinois before relocating to Florida in 1990. For the three years following, he was employed by a local construction company and worked on many projects in this area including the North Port library, Peace River Elementary School, and the Avon Park Police station.
In 1993, Gary joined Tom Wessel's newly formed company, where he has gained the respect of the local construction industry through his in-depth knowledge of construction materials and methods and his attention to detail.
Gary is responsible for some of the repeat referral business enjoyed by Tom Wessel Construction Corp.
